Robla E-Training

Twenty minutes, start to finish

If it has been a while since you trained, this is what you are walking into: a normal week first, then what is different about your first visit.

Week to week

A normal session

You walk in when it suits you - no class times, no booking - and sit down at the first machine. It wakes up set for you: the seat, the range, the resistance. Then you train for twenty minutes.

The round is a handful of machines - a leg press, a chest press, a row. The movements are slow and ordinary. Each machine shows you the pace and the range on its screen, and the resistance adjusts itself as you move - you never set a weight and never judge your own effort.

What surprises most people is how quickly a simple movement stops being simple. A leg press you would not think twice about is real work by the last few repetitions - and when you have nothing left, the machine gives way exactly where you do. It is never you against a stack of weights.

You can stop at any moment, mid-round included. Then you leave - no showers, no changing rooms, so twenty minutes means twenty minutes. The whole visit fits inside a lunch break.

The resistance is set from your measurement and from your last visit. In your first weeks it rises visit by visit - starting gently, climbing steadily - and it adjusts as you move. Your plan is not a sheet of paper: it is the room, recalculated every time you walk in.

The first time

Your first visit is longer

Plan an hour. Three things happen before you train, and the first round is set lighter than it will be later.

  1. 01

The health questions, and a conversation about them

You go through them with the person at the desk - what you have going on, what you have had, what you take. Nothing is signed before this conversation. If this training is not right for you, or a doctor should look at something first, you hear it here rather than later.

  2. 02

A few seconds at the measurement station

You stand in front of a small station while it measures the lengths that decide how a seat and a lever should sit. It takes seconds. From then on, every machine in the room is set for you before you touch it - each one recognises you when you sit down.

  3. 03

A first round lighter than you could manage

On purpose, and lower than you could push to. The dose is two short sessions a week, building slowly - starting gently is what makes the tenth visit unremarkable. You may ache for a day or two afterwards, the way you would after any unfamiliar training.

  4. 04

    You leave with a plan

Before you leave, you say when you plan to come next - most people settle on regular times, and the diary is there if you want it, never a condition of coming in. The studio remembers where you got to, and the machines pick it up on their own next time. After this first hour, you walk in.

Honest by design

Training - and honest about it

Training is our whole job

A Robla session is strength training, done properly - and anything medical belongs with your doctor. The studio will always point you the right way; that honesty is part of the standard.

Your health stays in professional hands

If you are being looked after for anything, bring it to the health conversation - your training is built around the full picture, together with the professionals who know you.
